Welcome Center 9/10

DSCN1451Join us in our annual fundraiser serving at the I-91 Welcome Center in Guilford on September 10th between 7:30-5. (We usually stay until the guest traffic slows down or when food runs out.) We need folks to help serve and greet guests as well as folks to donate, buy or bake food. We need food for breakfast, snacks and lunch to offer motorists stopping for a break. We’ll be serving COFFEE and will need half & half, 2% milk, iced tea mix, hot chocolate mix and tea bags. We’re looking for donation of BREAKFAST food items like donuts, cream cheese and bagels, muffins, coffee cake, tea breads and fruit like apples and bananas. For LUNCH, we need donations of sandwich fillings and bread or premade sandwiches like tuna, egg salad, ham salad, cheese, peanut butter and jelly and veggie DSCN1452spears like carrots, celery and cucumbers. We need items for SNACKS like small bags of assorted chips, cookies, brownies, trail mix and hard-boiled eggs. We are looking for donations of BEVERAGES like bottled water, juice or soda and DOG BISCUITS for the furry friends who visit. These are just suggestions. If you have a great idea, please do something unique and wonderful! Cash donations also gladly accepted. Please bring to the church kitchen, clearly marked “Welcome Center” by Tuesday, September 8th and place items needing refrigeration in refrigerator. Weight Watchers uses the counter facing the Fellowship Hall Tuesday evening so you should leave your items on the counters closer to the refrigerator. We need volunteers to Work shifts from 7:30 – 11:00, 11:00 – 2:00 and 2:00 – 5:00. Sign up on the oak table or send an email to volunteer or bake.
