Gender and God

fatherWorship this Sunday, June 21st at 10 am will celebrate Father’s Day. Scripture from Mark 4:35-41 will be read by Betty Stacy telling the story of Jesus calming the storm. Rev. Cheryl Meachen’s sermon, titled, Gender and God, will explore the tradition of viewing God as male and what it would mean to our spiritual life to view God as female or genderless. The Children’s Time, titled, Who’s in Your Boat, will teach about confident faith in the midst of the storms of life based on the Mark text. Everyone is invited to bring photos or mementos of their father to place on the altar for a special prayer. Kevin Mills will play the organ.
