Worship this Sunday, May 24th at 10 am will celebrate the holy day of Pentecost and will include scripture from Acts 2:1-21, read by Jane Clarke. Rev. Cheryl Meachen’s sermon, titled, Sparks Flew, will explore the ongoing creation of the church of Pentecost. The Children’s Time, titled, The Wind in Your Socks, will teach about the nature of the Holy Spirit and the making of wind socks. This date also marks Aldersgate Day, the anniversary of when founder John Wesley’s heart was “strangely warmed” in a deeply spiritual conversion experience. There will also be a celebration of Heritage Sunday inviting stories from the church’s history. The choir, directed by Jenny Hinton, will sing God Is In This Place. Parishioners are encouraged to wear red to symbolize the day. Kevin Mills will play the organ. The church is located at 18 Town Crier Drive off Putney Road and is handicap-accessible.
