Worship will be held this Sunday, May 18th at 10 am. Scripture from Acts 7:55-60 will be read by Ron Francis telling the story of the stoning of the Apostle Stephen. Rev. Cheryl Meachen will preach a sermon entitled, “Sticks and Stones” which will explore the simple act of feeding the widow, in which Stephen does the works of Jesus, but in the process opens himself to the deadly forces of a misunderstanding world. It is Heritage Sunday and longtime members will be honored. Congregants are invited to wear hats or other 18th century garb and our hymns will all be from John Wesley’s time. Our billowers: Patti French, Jean MacLean, Cheryl Meachen and Betty Stacy will present “A Mighty Fortress” in liturgical dance with gossamer bands of flowing cloth.
