Witnesses

RipplesWorship will be held this Sunday, June 1st at 10 am. Scripture from Acts 1:6-14 will be read by Mary Anne Deer telling the story of Jesus describing the power of the Holy Spirit bestowed upon his followers. Rev. Cheryl Meachen will preach a sermon entitled, “Witnesses” which will explore the ever expanding concentric circles in which God’s grace is to be shared and witnessed. The United Methodist Women invite every woman to a banquet at 6:00 pm Sunday for a delicious roast pork dinner and fun game show themed entertainment. A Heart Strangely Warmed

wesley heartWorship will be held this Sunday, May 25th at 10 am. Scripture from Luke 24:44-53 will be read by Leslie Kramsky telling the story of Jesus’ ascension. It is Aldersgate Sunday, the celebration of the anniversary of the day in 1738 when John Wesley had an experience of God that deeply touched and transformed him. Rev. Cheryl Meachen will preach a sermon entitled, “A Heart Strangely Warmed” which will explore Wesley’s experience and encourage the congregation to discern or recall transformative personal experiences of Christ. Sticks and Stones

stephenWorship will be held this Sunday, May 18th at 10 am. Scripture from Acts 7:55-60 will be read by Ron Francis telling the story of the stoning of the Apostle Stephen. Rev. Cheryl Meachen will preach a sermon entitled, “Sticks and Stones” which will explore the simple act of feeding the widow, in which Stephen does the works of Jesus, but in the process opens himself to the deadly forces of a misunderstanding world. It is Heritage Sunday and longtime members will be honored. Congregants are invited to wear hats or other 18th century garb and our hymns will all be from John Wesley’s time. Our billowers: Patti French, Jean MacLean, Cheryl Meachen and Betty Stacy will present “A Mighty Fortress” in liturgical dance with gossamer bands of flowing cloth. Blessing of the Bikes – June 15 at 10am

13449_410971873048_549943048_4226683_7291240_nBikers and everyone are welcome to our Annual Blessing of the Bikes on Sunday June 15th. We will line up, meet and greet between 9 and 10am. Church service at 10am will be full of energy including “Born to be Wild” at some point during the service. There will be a bike judging with some prizes, then the Blessing as we depart on a ride through some beautiful roads of Vermont and New Hampshire ending at “The Tent” for a free biker meal which is run by the Cornerstone Motorcycle Ministry. After some awesome fellowship you may depart to Laconia for Bike Week or wherever your bike takes you! Start your Bike Week off with a Blessing! Bring you friends or your whole club. Scripture from Acts 2:42-47 will be read by Jane Clarke telling the story of the apostles living in community, sharing their possessions and love of God. Rev. Cheryl Meachen will preach a sermon entitled, “Communists!” which will explore this scriptural model of a successful, vibrant church. The choir will sing. A special offering for Imagine No Malaria will be taken. On this Mothers’ Day, every $10 donation will save the life of a child in Africa by purchasing a bed mosquito net.
