Worship will be held this Sunday, February 2nd at 10 am. Doug Reed will read scripture from 1 Corinthians 1:18-31 in which Paul explains the message of the cross. Rev. Cheryl Meachen will preach a sermon entitled, “The Wisdom of the World” exploring the surprising ways in which God chooses the weak and lowly to accomplish greatness. We will celebrate communion at the Lord’s Table, to which all are invited, regardless of church membership.

Doug Reed will read scripture from John 1:29-42 which tells the story of John and his followers discovering the fullness of Jesus’ identity as the Son of God, Lamb of God, the Rabbi (teacher), Messiah and Anointed after experiencing his baptism. Rev. Cheryl Meachen will preach a sermon entitled, “Finding Jesus”, exploring our search for Jesus in the midst of our troubled world and what it is we truly seek to find in him. A special offering will be received for Human Relations Day which funds community developers and voluntary services throughout the denomination. Worship this Sunday, January 12th at 10 am celebrates the Baptism of Jesus the Lord. Scripture from Matthew 3:13-17 telling the story will be read by Mary Anne Deer. Rev. Cheryl Meachen will preach a sermon entitled, “No Turning Back”, describing the meaning of repentance contrasted with taking Christ’s holy name. Holy Communion will be celebrated. We will remember our baptism and an invitation to baptism will be extended. The choir will sing.
