Rendering the Law Obsolete

Jesus teaching at the TempleWorship this Sunday, November 10th at 10 am will include the reading of Jesus’ parable about the Hebrew law where, if a husband dies, his brother will marry the wife to continue the family line and a situation where this happened seven times, raising the question as to whose wife the woman would be in the resurrection. This scripture is found in Luke 20:27-38 and will be read by Mary Anne Deer. Rev. Cheryl Meachen’s sermon, entitled, “Rendering the Law Obsolete” will explore the importance of human laws to maintain order in human society contrasted with the divine order in which none of those laws apply. Our monthly Wishing Well offering will benefit the Windham County Heat Fund. Our choir, led by Jenny Hinton, will sing “I Will Be the Vine.” The church is located at 18 Town Crier Drive off Putney Road and is handicap-accessible. All are welcome!
